Liga Portugal joins SCB Innovation Hub

Liga Portugal has decided to join SCB Innovation Hub, rewarding the startups that are selected for the first edition of the acceleration program for ‘sports tech’ promoted by SC Braga. SCB Innovation Hub and the companies to be elected for 2023/24 will have an exclusive exhibition and presentation space in the next edition of Thinking Football, a major international summit organized by Liga Portugal and that will be held this year between September 7 and 9, in Porto (Super Bock Arena).

The startups that are selected after the application phase open until the end of April will be invited to participate in this important soccer forum, but for the companies that, at the end of the program, are elected as the best in each of the four defined areas, there is also an extra prize in the form of an invitation to present themselves and individually at the Thinking Football 2024.

António Salvador, SC Braga President, sees this association with Liga Portugal and Thinking Football as very motivating.

“This is an important recognition of the value that this acceleration program will have, not only for SC Braga, but for the entire industry. This invitation and this opportunity that Liga Portugal gives to the startups that are elected to the program is a demonstration of a clear vision of what the future is and the importance of moving forward together,” said António Salvador.

Pedro Proença, Liga Portugal President, congratulated SC Braga and its partners for the project and highlighted Liga Portugal’s association.

“The future of soccer lies in the innovation capacity of the industry. This is a project for the present and future, and it is with great pleasure that Liga Portugal is associated with the SC Braga Innovation Hub, through the Thinking Football Summit, with the event serving as an exhibition platform,” said Pedro Proença.

The Thinking Football Summit had its first edition in November 2022, with thousands of participants and immediately became a reference forum for discussion and reflection on the present and future of the soccer and sports industry.

The SCB Innovation Hub is the acceleration program for ‘sports tech’ promoted by SC Braga in partnership with Microsoft and starts in June this year. The application phase is open until April 30.
